Clear Aligners Are...

The Process of Getting Clear Aligners

Step 1: Charting Your Course

The first stop in your clear aligner journey is a consultation with Dr. Bryant. During your visit, he’ll give you the opportunity to share your smile goals and hear about any other potential problems you may have. Whether you have minor gaps, crowding, or misalignment, Dr. Bryant will assess your teeth and gums to determine if clear aligners are the right treatment option for you.

Step 2: Capturing Your Blueprint

The next step is to capture a precise picture of your current smile. We do this with digital scans, which take 3D images of your teeth to give us an accurate representation of your teeth. We use these to create a customized treatment plan for your new smile.

Step 3: Your Transformation Tools

This is when we send your digital scans and treatment plan to a lab to start making your clear aligner trays. We will have a series of aligners created, each one designed to gently shift your teeth a little closer to their ideal position, gradually guiding your teeth into alignment. Although similar to Invisalign, Clear Aligners tend to be thinner and even more discrete while the glove-like fit provides true comfort.

Step 4: Balancing Consistent Treatment

Now comes the exciting part – wearing your clear aligners! You’ll typically wear each set of aligners for a designated period, usually around two weeks, before moving on to the next set in the series. For optimal results, you’ll have to wear your aligners consistently for at least 20-22 hours per day. These aligners can, however, be removed to let you enjoy your meals without hassle and experience easy brushing and flossing.

Step 5: Staying on Track

We will set up regular check-ups to keep an eye on your progress and help ensure your treatment is on course. Dr. Bryant uses these appointments to assess the movement of your teeth, check the fit of your current aligners, and address any questions or concerns you may have. He will also provide you with the next set of aligners in the series, keeping you on track for your smile transformation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Aligners are great for adults and teens looking to straighten their teeth, but they might not be suitable for everyone. During a consultation with Dr. Bryant, he will assess your smile needs and determine whether or not clear aligners are the right choice for you.

At most, you might experience some mild discomfort when you first start wearing a new set of aligners – this is normal as your teeth are starting to shift.

Luckily, this discomfort is only temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.

The total cost of your clear aligners depends on the complexity of your case and the length of your treatment. We provide you with a personalized treatment plan and will discuss the associated costs. Should you need it, we offer comprehensive membership plans to help you get the dental care you need. Just call our friendly front office team for more information.

If you’ve broken one of your aligners, call our office immediately. Depending on which stage of treatment you’re in, Dr. Bryant can advise you on the best course of action. This may involve wearing your previous aligner for a longer period or getting a replacement aligner.

As long as you’re wearing your trays consistently for 20 hours a day at the least, the clear aligner straightening process will generally take around 9-15 months, but this can vary depending on the complexity of your case. Keep you smile on track with consistent wear and check-ups, and ask Dr. Bryant for a timeline based on the specifics of your case.
